The SwitchBot Roller Shade Matter Blackout Roller Blind is a smart, motorised blind for automated light control and privacy in indoor spaces. The blackout fabric blocks incoming light and provides UV protection and insulation, making it suitable for bedrooms, home offices and living rooms where darkness matters. A built-in rechargeable battery delivers up to eight months of operation per charge, and an optional solar panel extends that interval by continuously replenishing the battery. The unit measures 1185 mm wide, 95 mm high and 140 mm deep, with a total weight of 3960 g. It installs without drilling or cables on compatible windows, which simplifies setup for renters and homeowners alike.

Connectivity runs over Bluetooth for direct control and over Wi-Fi via the SwitchBot Hub 2 for broader smart home integration. The Hub 2 also adds Matter support, allowing the blind to work with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant. The SwitchBot mobile app provides remote operation, scheduling and routine automation without needing a voice assistant. An optional solar panel accessory from SwitchBot's Curtain or Blind Tilt lines can be paired to reduce the frequency of manual recharging. The blind can also be controlled with a SwitchBot Remote where app or voice control is not available. All operation is limited to indoor window placement.
