Designed for gaming, work and general typing, the Keychron K8 Ultra 8K 80% Wireless Mechanical Keyboard, Black, Apex Red uses Keychron Apex Red linear mechanical switches, which move without a tactile bump. Its 80% tenkeyless format omits a dedicated numeric keypad, leaving more desk space than a full-size layout. The keyboard connects by USB-C or wirelessly over 2.4 GHz. An 8,000 Hz polling rate is supported in wired and 2.4 GHz modes, giving the board a high input reporting rate for fast-paced play. Bluetooth 5.2 adds another wireless connection option. The keyboard can switch between multiple devices, making it suitable for setups that use more than one computer or other compatible device.

The chassis combines aluminium, ABS plastic and steel, while the keycaps are double-shot PBT in an OSA profile. Adjustable RGB LED backlighting provides lighting options for gaming and use in dim rooms. N-key rollover and anti-ghosting support simultaneous key presses without missed inputs. Programmable hot keys allow shortcut and key-mapping changes, and the keyboard has onboard memory. It is compatible with macOS, Windows and Linux. A detachable cable supports wired use as well as charging the rechargeable battery; battery life is rated at up to 760 hours with the backlight off.
