The Sony BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 Wireless Rear Speakers are a pair of rear-channel speakers for extending a home cinema setup. Their rated RMS output is 180 W. The speakers use 360 Spatial Sound Mapping to help create a surround sound field around the listening area. Wireless audio connectivity removes the need to run cables between the rear speakers and the soundbar. They are designed for use with a compatible Sony BRAVIA Theatre soundbar system, not as standalone units.

AC power is required, so wireless audio does not mean cable-free placement. Power cords are supplied for connecting the speakers to mains outlets. The enclosures can be placed on stands or mounted on a wall, depending on the room layout. A wall-mounting kit and mounting brackets are included, providing the hardware for the wall-mounted option. The black finish is consistent across both speakers, and there are no HDMI inputs, HDMI outputs, or optical audio inputs for direct wired source connections.
