The HyperX QuadCast 2 USB Condenser Microphone, Black, is a desktop electret condenser microphone designed for gaming, streaming, podcasting, and content creation. Four selectable pickup patterns cover cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional, and stereo recording. The cardioid pattern favours sound from the front, helping to limit pickup from behind the mic during solo speech. The other settings suit group conversations and recording arrangements that call for sound from multiple directions. Its rated signal-to-noise ratio is 100 dB, with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

The aluminium housing is supplied with a desktop stand for placement on a desk. A detachable shock mount is included to help isolate the microphone from vibrations transmitted through its support. The 3.5 mm headphone output supports direct audio monitoring while recording. Power and the wired audio connection run through USB-C, so no battery is required.
