The Cisco 886VA VDSL2/ADSL2+ Integrated Services Router acts as a fixed-line desktop gateway for branch offices. It connects to broadband via copper lines, supporting VDSL2, ADSL2, and ADSL2+ standards. As the unit lacks a SIM slot, it does not support 4G or 5G mobile networks and requires a fixed broadband or Ethernet WAN connection. Local wireless access uses the Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) standard, with a maximum transfer rate of 300 Mbit/s. Integrated MIMO technology helps maintain wireless throughput across connected devices.

The router features four Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbit/s) LAN ports for workstations, printers, and switches. External antennas with up to 2 dBi gain provide wireless signal distribution. Network administrators can implement security features including 128-bit and 256-bit AES encryption and 802.1x RADIUS authentication. The built-in firewall includes an Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and content filtering to monitor incoming traffic.
