This DELTACO SFP transceiver is a module designed to establish Gigabit Ethernet links using single-mode fiber optic cable. It utilizes Bi-Directional (BiDi) technology, which enables both the transmission and reception of data over a single fiber strand, conserving network infrastructure. The module is engineered for long-distance network extensions, serving as a component in data centers, enterprise backbones, and other high-capacity network environments. Its small form-factor pluggable design allows for hot-swapping in compatible network switches and routers without service interruption.

The transceiver operates in accordance with the 1000BASE-BX-D standard, supporting a data transfer rate of 1 Gbit/s across a maximum distance of 20 kilometers. It functions with a transmit wavelength of 1550 nm and a receive wavelength of 1310 nm, requiring a corresponding module with reversed wavelengths at the opposing end of the link. Developed as a functional equivalent to the Cisco GLC-BX-D, it provides a compatible solution for integration into specific Cisco networking equipment and other compliant hardware. The physical interface uses a standard LC connector for the fiber optic connection.
