The Adaptec 2279800-R Mini SAS HD (SFF-8643) to 4x SATA (SFF-8448) fan-out cable is designed for server and workstation storage. This 0.8-metre cable connects a single Mini SAS HD controller port to four separate SATA connections. It allows a SAS/SATA adapter to interface directly with SATA drives or a compatible backplane. At 800 mm, the length is suitable for standard server chassis, minimising excess slack. The design consolidates four data lanes into a single host-side connector.
