The Cisco 881W Integrated Services Router (C881W-E-K9) is a desktop gateway that provides local network access via a 3G cellular signal or a wired WAN connection. It operates on the single-band Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) standard, with a maximum wireless data transfer rate of 300 Mbit/s, broadcasting exclusively on the 2.4 GHz frequency. The router supports HSPA and UMTS mobile networks for branch office or remote connectivity. This model does not support 4G or 5G, relying instead on its built-in 3G modem and Fast Ethernet WAN interface for external bandwidth.
Three external antennas can be adjusted to improve indoor signal coverage. Local wired networking is provided by four Fast Ethernet LAN ports, which support speeds of 10 and 100 Mbit/s for desktop computers, network switches, or point-of-sale terminals. The device runs on Cisco IOS Software, providing enterprise-grade routing in a compact form factor. It includes a built-in firewall with stateful packet inspection to filter incoming traffic. It is powered by a 60 W AC adapter, suitable for standard office environments.
