The Noctua NF-S12A ULN is a 120mm case fan engineered specifically for ultra-low-noise operation. Its design incorporates seven blades with anti-stall knobs, which work in conjunction with the Advanced Acoustic Optimisation (AAO) frame to maintain steady, quiet airflow. This configuration is optimized for high-volume airflow at very low rotational speeds, making it effective for chassis ventilation. The fan is constructed from PBT material and features integrated anti-vibration pads on the mounting corners to reduce the transmission of structural noise to the PC case.

This model operates at a maximum speed of 800 RPM and connects to a motherboard via a standard 3-pin DC header, which also allows for speed monitoring. For users requiring near-silent performance, the included Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptor (U.L.N.A.) can be used to cap the fan speed at 600 RPM, further reducing the acoustic output to 6.7 dB.
