The TP-Link TL-SG1008P V4 8-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch with 4-Port PoE+ is an unmanaged, plug-and-play device designed to expand wired network capacity without the need for configuration. It provides eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports for data transfer. Four of these ports support Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), providing both electricity and data over a single cable. With a total PoE budget of 64 W and up to 30 W per port, the switch powers devices such as IP cameras or VoIP phones directly, eliminating the need for individual power adapters. Power distribution is managed automatically according to IEEE 802.3af/at standards.
The unit is housed in a grey metal chassis for effective heat dissipation and durability. It has a desktop footprint of 171 x 98 x 27 mm and weighs 900 g. Its fanless design ensures silent operation, making it suitable for offices or residential workspaces. Built-in LED indicators show power and link status. The device has a maximum power consumption of 75 W via the included DC input and is designed to sit on a desk rather than in a rack.
Key Features:- A 16 Gbit/s switching capacity and 11.904 Mpps forwarding rate maintain consistent data flow across all active connections.
- Auto-MDI/MDIX automatically detects cable types, removing the need for specialized crossover cables.
- Support for 16 KB jumbo frames improves transfer efficiency for large files across the local area network.
- Autonegotiation on every interface adjusts link speeds to match the capabilities of the connected hardware.
- A 4000-entry MAC address table manages traffic for connected network devices.
- IEEE 802.3x flow control reduces packet loss by pausing data transmission during periods of high network congestion.
- Compatibility with Cat3, Cat4, Cat5, and Cat5e wiring allows for integration with both legacy and modern Ethernet infrastructure.
