The Cisco Meraki MS250-48LP-HW is a cloud-managed Layer 3 switch designed to segment corporate networks and power connected endpoints. It features 48 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports, all supporting Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) for devices such as access points and IP cameras. With a switching capacity of 172 Gbit/s, the device manages high-volume traffic without bottlenecks. Four integrated SFP+ slots provide 10G uplinks for connections to core hardware or fibre backbones. Integrated IP routing and static routes allow the switch to direct data internally, reducing reliance on external routers.

The hardware uses a standard 1U rack-mount form factor for integration into server cabinets. Administrators configure and monitor the device through a web-based cloud management platform. Security and segmentation are managed via support for up to 4,095 active VLANs, access control lists (ACLs), and 802.1x RADIUS authentication. Traffic flow is regulated by Quality of Service (QoS), IGMP snooping, and broadcast storm control. The switch also supports physical stacking, allowing multiple units to be grouped and managed as a single entity.
