The Noctua NH-U9DX i4 is an air cooling solution engineered specifically for Intel Xeon LGA20xx and LGA13xx server platforms. Its compact 125mm overall height dimension is intended to maximize chassis compatibility, allowing deployment within 4U rack enclosures and dense workstation builds. This dual-fan setup operates in a push/pull configuration, utilizing two included 92mm NF-B9 fans to ensure efficient thermal transfer within a reduced system footprint. Six 6mm copper heat pipes are employed to distribute the thermal load away from the contact plate and into the cooling fins.

Thermal dissipation relies on a nickel-plated copper base connected to the heat pipes, which lead into an extensive array of aluminum cooling fins. The two NF-B9 fans support Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) control, allowing the system to dynamically adjust speeds up to 1600 RPM based on processor load. At maximum rotational speed, the fans deliver 37.85 CFM of airflow while maintaining a maximum noise output of 17.6 dB(A). The fans integrate SSO2 bearing technology, rated for a mean time to failure (MTTF) of 150,000 hours, supporting continuous operation in demanding server environments.
