The FANTEC QB-35US3R is an external storage enclosure designed to accommodate up to four 3.5-inch SATA hard drives. The unit supports multiple hardware RAID configurations, including RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 10, and BIG, allowing users to configure the drives for performance, data redundancy, or maximum capacity. This flexibility makes it a functional solution for managing large datasets, creating centralized media libraries, or performing system backups. The enclosure operates independently of the host system's RAID controller and is managed via internal hardware.

Constructed from metal, the chassis provides a durable housing for the installed drives. System cooling is managed by a single, temperature-controlled 80mm fan located at the rear of the enclosure, which adjusts its speed based on thermal load to maintain operational temperatures. For data transfer, the device offers a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port capable of speeds up to 5 Gbit/s and an eSATA port for alternative connectivity. The unit is powered by an external adapter and includes the required USB and eSATA cables for setup.
