The Cisco Catalyst C9120AXI-E Wi‑Fi 6 Indoor Access Point is designed for medium to large enterprise environments that require high-capacity wireless connectivity. It uses the IEEE 802.11ax standard to handle high-density traffic in locations such as offices and classrooms. The unit connects to the local network via an RJ-45 uplink supporting data rates of 10, 100, 1000, and 2500 Mbit/s. Power over Ethernet (PoE) allows the device to be powered directly through the data cable. The internal hardware includes a dedicated Cisco RF ASIC with Flexible Radio Assignment and CleanAir technology to mitigate wireless interference.

Security configurations use WPA3 encryption and 802.1X RADIUS integration to protect client sessions. Administrators can segment wireless traffic using IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging. The indoor chassis is designed for wall mounting and consumes up to 25.5 W under maximum load. Integrated Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) provides a secondary connection path for IoT hardware. Local management is accessed through an RJ-45 console port, and exterior diagnostic LEDs provide visual feedback on association status, operating conditions, and boot errors.
