The Ubiquiti UniFi USW-16-POE is an L2/L3 managed 16-port Gigabit switch designed to connect and power network devices. It features 16 Gigabit RJ-45 ports and a 36 Gbit/s switching capacity, supporting simultaneous data transfer. Eight of these ports provide Power over Ethernet Plus (IEEE 802.3af/at) to power compatible access points, IP cameras, or VoIP phones. Two SFP slots are included for fiber uplinks to backbone infrastructure or core switches.

Housed in an SGCC steel 1U chassis, the switch mounts in standard racks and uses a fanless design for silent operation. The unit provides a 48 W total PoE budget, with individual ports delivering up to 32 W depending on device requirements. Administrators can manage network segmentation via the web-based interface, which supports up to 1000 VLANs and IEEE 802.1x RADIUS authentication. Additional traffic controls include L3 static routing, port mirroring, and Spanning Tree Protocol to maintain network stability. Power consumption is typically 18 W, reaching a maximum of 60 W at full load.
