The Huawei AirEngine 9700-M WLAN Controller (16xGE, 12x10GE SFP+, 2x40GE QSFP+, no power) acts as a central management unit for enterprise wireless networks. This system consolidates network control, allowing administrators to manage large deployments from a single location rather than configuring access points individually. Local device connectivity is provided by 16 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports. Supporting Layer 2 and Layer 3 standards, the system integrates into various routing topologies with a maximum data throughput of 20 Gbit/s.
This configuration does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE). The chassis ships without power supply modules, which must be installed separately. High-speed data transfer to the core network is handled by dedicated fiber uplink interfaces. Weighing 8.29 kg and measuring 550 mm by 530 mm by 230 mm, the unit is intended for installation in telecommunications rooms or server racks. This centralised management architecture separates the wireless control plane from standard endpoint traffic.
