The Cisco Meraki MS355-24X managed Layer 3 switch provides centralized control for networks requiring multi-gigabit connectivity. This model features a mixed-port configuration, including 16 standard Gigabit copper ports and 8 dedicated 10G Ethernet RJ-45 ports. A total switching capacity of 352 Gbit/s supports concurrent traffic flow. The unit integrates four SFP+ slots to accommodate fiber uplinks to core or server infrastructure. With a forwarding rate of 262 Mpps, it handles traffic for wired and wireless client endpoints.
The 1U rack-mountable chassis fits standard 19-inch enclosures and uses three internal fans for cooling. Administrators manage the device via a cloud-based interface or web GUI, centralizing provisioning and monitoring. For connected hardware such as access points and IP cameras, the switch provides a 740 W total Power over Ethernet (PoE) budget. Layer 3 functionality includes IP routing and static routing, with support for up to 4,094 active VLANs. The hardware also incorporates Quality of Service (QoS) protocols, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and DHCP snooping.
Key Features:- Hardware throughput of 352 Gbit/s for packet processing across all physical interfaces.
- MAC address table capacity of 32,000 entries to track devices in enterprise deployments.
- Jumbo frame handling up to 9,600 bytes to optimize the transfer of large data payloads.
- Authentication protocols including MAC-based, port-based, and web-based methods, supplemented by ARP inspection.
- Stackable architecture to physically expand port density while managing multiple units as a single entity.
