The CORSAIR K100 RGB is an extended form-factor keyboard constructed with a durable aluminum frame for structural rigidity. It is equipped with CORSAIR OPX optical-mechanical keyswitches, which register inputs via a light beam for reduced debounce delay and a linear travel path. These switches feature a short 1.0 mm actuation point and are rated for a lifespan of 150 million keystrokes. The keyboard's AXON Hyper-Processing Technology facilitates a native 4000 Hz polling rate, transmitting keystrokes to the computer more frequently than standard gaming keyboards.

For personalization, the keyboard offers dynamic per-key RGB backlighting and six dedicated macro keys that are programmable using software. A prominent multi-function iCUE control wheel allows for immediate adjustments to media, lighting brightness, and other custom functions. The unit includes a detachable, magnetic wrist rest with memory foam padding for ergonomic support during use. A USB 2.0 pass-through port is also integrated into the chassis for connecting an additional peripheral device like a mouse or headset.
