The be quiet! DARK BASE 900 is a full-tower chassis designed for modularity and low-noise operation. Its internal structure supports a wide range of motherboard form factors, including EATX and XL-ATX, to accommodate large-scale builds. The case features a repositionable and invertible motherboard tray, which allows for customized internal layouts. Individual and relocatable HDD trays provide further flexibility for component placement, enabling users to optimize for storage capacity or internal airflow depending on their specific hardware configuration.

Thermal management is handled by three pre-installed Silent Wings 3 140mm PWM fans, with two at the front intake and one at the rear exhaust. The case provides extensive support for custom cooling solutions, accommodating liquid cooling radiators up to 420mm in both the front and top panels. Construction consists of aluminum, steel, and ABS synthetics, with solid side panels to aid in sound dampening. For maintenance, removable dust filters are located at the front, bottom, and side intakes.
