The be quiet! Dark Base 700 is a midi-tower case engineered for flexible system configurations and low-noise operation. Its construction combines an aluminum and steel frame with a 4mm tempered glass side panel for structural integrity and component visibility. A key feature is its fully decoupled and reversible motherboard tray, which can be repositioned for an inverted layout or used as an independent test bench. The modular design extends to the single-slot HDD cages, allowing builders to customize the internal layout for specific component and cooling requirements.

This chassis provides extensive component compatibility, supporting motherboards up to the E-ATX form factor and CPU coolers as tall as 180mm. Thermal management is handled by substantial cooling capacity, including mounts for radiators up to 360mm in both the front and top positions. Two 140mm Silent Wings 3 PWM fans are pre-installed to establish initial airflow, and their speed can be adjusted via an integrated fan controller. The front I/O panel is equipped with two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port for modern peripheral connectivity.
