The TP-Link Deco X20 system is a three-pack mesh networking solution designed to provide Wi-Fi 6 coverage across larger residences, supporting an operational range of up to 400 m². This dual-band system utilizes 802.11ax technology to deliver a maximum combined wireless data rate of 1800 Mbit/s. The 5 GHz band reaches speeds up to 1201 Mbit/s, while the 2.4 GHz band provides up to 574 Mbit/s, optimizing performance for concurrent activities like 4K streaming and high-speed data transfer. The system establishes a single unified network ID, automatically managing device connections to ensure stable throughput.

Each physical Deco X20 unit is equipped with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, which can function for both WAN input and wired LAN connectivity. Internal hardware includes a quad-core 1000 MHz processor, enabling the mesh system to efficiently manage connections for up to 150 supported devices. The integration of OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology allows for reduced latency and improved data handling when multiple clients are simultaneously active on the network. Security protocols include WPA3 encryption, complemented by a built-in Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall, Quality of Service (QoS) support, and IP address filtering.
