The Delock PCI Express x1 card adds legacy FireWire connectivity to desktop systems, featuring three external FireWire 800 (1394B) ports and one internal FireWire 400 (1394A) port. It uses a PCIe x1 interface to provide dedicated bandwidth for FireWire devices, such as digital camcorders or external storage drives. The card supports data transfer rates of up to 0.8 Gbit/s, meeting the requirements of high-speed FireWire 800 peripherals. It acts as a bridge between modern motherboards and legacy communication standards, allowing users to keep existing hardware functional even when modern connection options are unavailable.
The four ports accommodate various hardware setups. External connectivity is provided by the three FireWire 800 ports, while the single internal FireWire 400 port supports devices within the chassis. The card is compatible with Windows versions 7 through 11, with included drivers to simplify the installation process. Plug-and-play support allows the system to recognise the hardware automatically in compatible environments. This expansion card provides a dedicated solution for hardware-based FireWire communication in a standard desktop.
