The Panasonic SC-HTB490EGK is a dedicated 2.1 channel soundbar system designed to function as a primary audio solution for television viewing environments. Audio reproduction utilizes a main soundbar unit paired with a separate active wireless subwoofer for frequency isolation and low-end delivery. The system delivers a total RMS rated power output of 320 W. This power is split equally, allocating 160 W to the primary soundbar array and 160 W to the subwoofer unit, resulting in defined stereo separation and robust bass performance.

Integration with source components relies on digital and wireless connection methods. The unit supports HDMI ARC functionality, which simplifies setup by allowing the user to manage power and volume controls through a compatible TV remote control. Additional inputs include one dedicated HDMI input and one digital audio optical input.
