The Aruba Instant On 1830 48G 4SFP is a Layer 2 smart-managed switch for local area networks. It features 48 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports and four dedicated SFP slots for fiber uplinks. All 48 copper ports support Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing compatible devices to be powered directly through the network cable. The switch has a total switching capacity of 104 Gbit/s and a forwarding rate of 77.37 Mpps, designed to manage high traffic volumes without bottlenecks.
The 1U chassis is designed for installation in standard server cabinets or network enclosures. Administrators can configure and monitor the device via a web-based interface or a cloud management platform. The software includes support for VLANs to segment traffic, Quality of Service (QoS) controls to prioritise specific data streams, and Layer 2 protocols such as IGMP snooping, link aggregation, and Spanning Tree Protocol. Under maximum load, the unit consumes 40.2 W of power.
