The HPE Aruba Networking CX 6400 48-port Smart Rate 1/2.5/5GbE Class 6 PoE and 4-port SFP56 v2 module is a high-density line card for the CX 6400 chassis. This Layer 3 module provides 48 RJ-45 Ethernet ports with data rates of 1000, 2500, and 5000 Mbit/s. It features a switching capacity of 28,000 Gbit/s to maintain performance in high-density enterprise networks. Administrators can use this module to aggregate traffic from multi-gigabit endpoints without creating bandwidth bottlenecks. The ports provide Power over Ethernet (PoE) to connected devices.

Designed for rack mounting, the unit slides directly into the host chassis to increase port density. It features a dedicated 1800 MHz ARM processor for local routing tasks and 8 GB of DDR4 SDRAM for managing large routing tables and management protocols. Because the module uses the primary chassis infrastructure for operation, it simplifies installation in data centres. Operating at the distribution layer, it connects endpoint access nodes to the core network.
