The Cisco Catalyst 1300 16P Gigabit PoE managed switch (2x1G SFP) offers Layer 2 and 3 network management and endpoint power delivery. It features 16 Gigabit RJ-45 ports for connecting LAN devices like IP phones, access points, and surveillance cameras. Two dedicated SFP slots, supplied with 1G modules, serve as fiber uplinks to the core network. The switch provides a total switching capacity of 36 Gbit/s for consistent data transfer across connected endpoints, with a forwarding rate of 26.78 Mpps to facilitate efficient traffic routing.

The metal housing is fanless, allowing for silent operation in noise-sensitive office environments. Network administrators can access the system via a web-based GUI or command-line interface to manage configurations. The unit provides Power over Ethernet across all 16 copper ports with a total power budget of 120 W. Individual connections can draw up to 30 W to power compatible devices via the data cable. Security and traffic prioritisation are managed through integrated access control lists, Quality of Service (QoS) rules, and MAC address filtering.
