The Cisco Catalyst 1300 Managed PoE Switch (16x Gigabit Ethernet) is an AC-powered device for connecting and powering network endpoints. This Layer 2/Layer 3 switch features 16 Gigabit RJ-45 ports, each capable of delivering Power over Ethernet to compatible access points, cameras, and telephones. The unit has a metal enclosure and uses a 1400 MHz processor and 1024 MB of memory to handle data traffic. It performs static IP routing for direct subnet communication and supports jumbo frames of up to 9,000 bytes for large data payloads.

Using VLANs and Quality of Service (QoS) protocols, the switch segments and prioritises network traffic based on operational requirements.
