The ASUS ZenWiFi AX XT8 is a mesh system designed for high-density networking environments using internal antennas integrated into a plastic tabletop housing. It operates across three distinct wireless bands, providing specific data transfer rates of up to 574 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz frequency, 1201 Mbit/s on the first 5 GHz band, and 4804 Mbit/s on the second 5 GHz band. Implementation of MU-MIMO and beamforming technologies facilitates signal stability for multiple concurrent clients by focusing transmissions toward specific hardware.

Wired connectivity is provided through one 2.5 Gigabit WAN port and three RJ-45 LAN ports for local hardware connections. A single USB 3.2 Gen 1 port facilitates external storage connectivity via Samba or other peripheral sharing methods. Management options include a web-based interface with support for DHCP server functionality and web-based administration. The unit supports wall-mountable or desktop placement and includes an AC adapter and a LAN cable for setup.
