The Noctua NH-L9x65 chromax.black is an air cooler engineered specifically for deployment in height-restricted small form factor (SFF) systems. The unit maintains a compact total height of 65 mm, facilitating compatibility with chassis where vertical clearance for CPU cooling is limited. Heat transfer is managed by four 6 mm copper heat pipes, which draw thermal energy from a nickel-plated copper base plate. This thermal load is subsequently dispersed across 50 nickel-plated aluminum fins. The structure utilizes a uniform black aesthetic for both the heatsink assembly and the integrated fan.

Thermal regulation is facilitated by the single included 92 mm NF-A9x14 fan, which measures 14 mm in thickness. The fan operates with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control, allowing rotational speeds to dynamically range up to 2500 RPM depending on processor demand. At maximum operational speed, the fan moves 57.5 m³/h of air while generating a peak acoustic output of 23.6 dB.
