Alpina Smart Home gateway (Zigbee)

Today, it is increasingly popular to make homes and business premises smarter with the help of various smart products. This automation is also known as Smart Home or Domotics. Such products are controlled by an app from your tablet or smartphone. This also applies to the products from the alpina Smart home range. Zigbee is a communication protocol that, just like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, enables smart devices to communicate with each other. With this wireless Zigbee hub you can connect for example the alpina Smart home motion sensor, water detector, window and door sensor or the humidity meter and climate sensor with each other. Both the Zigbee gateway and the connected devices can be operated and set via the alpina Smart home app. 

Installing the Zigbee hub 
To use the alpina Smart home Zigbee Gateway, first download the alpina Smart home app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once downloaded, open the app on your smartphone and, if you don't have one yet, create an account or log in to an existing account. Then click on the '+' to add the Zigbee hub. When the device is added to the app, simply plug it into a power outlet. If the reset button doesn't blink, press and hold it for five seconds. When the reset button blinks, confirm this in the app. Then confirm the Wi-Fi network and your password. Then enter a name for the device. The Zigbee hub is now ready to use.

Connect up to 50 devices
Once the Zigbee gateway is installed and connected to the alpina Smart home app, you can connect up to 50 devices to the Zigbee hub. For example, the alpina Smart home motion sensor, water detector, window and door sensor, hygrometer or humidity sensor and the climate sensor. Thanks to the Zigbee gateway, these different devices can communicate with each other. The operation of both the Zigbee hub and the different alpina Smart home Zigbee devices can be managed in the alpina Smart home app. A big advantage of the communication between these Smart home products is that the range and reliability of the whole network increases with every device you add. 

Wireless design and energy efficient 
The alpina Smart home Zigbee gateway is completely wireless. To use the hub, simply plug it into a power outlet and connect it to your Wi-Fi network. Once the Zigbee hub is installed in the alpina Smart home app, you can also connect other sensors and devices to the Zigbee gateway via your Wi-Fi network. The wireless range of the Zigbee hub is up to 90 metres. Another big advantage of the Zigbee hub is that it is energy efficient and affordable. Sensors and devices that are connected to it can often last for years on just one battery.
