Alpina Smart Vibration sensor (Zigbee)

The alpina Smart home vibration sensor is a sensor that detects vibration and movement of objects to which it is attached. Examples are drawers, door handles, mailboxes and window frames. As soon as the sensor detects any kind of vibration, it sends a push notification to your smartphone via the alpina Smart home app. To use the vibration sensor on as many different surfaces as possible, you can set it to different sensitivity levels: low, medium and high. Thanks to the Zigbee gateway, you can easily connect the vibration sensor with other products from the alpina Smart home range. NOTE: The vibration sensor can only be used in combination with the Zigbee Gateway.

Wireless vibration sensorThe alpina Smart home vibration sensor detects vibration on surfaces to which it is attached. For example, think of attaching it to your mailbox. The vibration sensor detects when mail falls into the mailbox and sends a push notification to your smartphone so you are informed. You can also place the sensor on a window, so you will be alerted when an uninvited guest or burglar smashes the window while trying to enter the house.

Different settings
To be able to use the sensor in as many different places as possible, it has different sensitivity settings: low, medium and high. If you place the sensor on a window frame to detect a window tap, you can use the low or medium setting. This is because a lot of vibration comes from tapping on a window. To detect vibration when opening a door or drawer where important items are stored, you can set the vibration meter to the highest sensitivity level. Even when someone opens a drawer very carefully, you can still receive an alert.

Because the vibration sensor cannot connect to your wifi network independently, you can only use the door sensor in combination with the Zigbee Gateway. When the vibration sensor detects vibration, you can receive a notification on your phone. You need the alpina Smart home app for this. You can easily download the app for Android in the Google Play store and for iOS in the Apple Store. To connect the Zigbee vibration sensor to the alpina Smart home app, select the option 'add sub-device' in the app. Press and hold the reset button on the sensor for at least 5 seconds until the indicator light comes on. Once the installation is complete you can start using the sensor. In the Alpina Smart home app, if you have several sensors, you can give each sensor a name and place them in different locations. 

Zigbee Hub
Because the vibration sensor cannot connect to your wifi network independently, you can only use the door sensor in combination with the Zigbee Gateway. Within the alpina Smart home line, different products can be connected to each other. Think of the window or door sensor, the climate sensor, the leakage alarm and this vibration sensor. This all takes place via the separately purchased Zigbee Gateway. This Zigbee Gateway connects up to 50 different Alpina Smart Home devices together, allowing them to communicate with each other. The operation and settings of each device, including the Zigbee Gateway, can be edited with the alpina Smart home app.
