The NETGEAR GS728TXP-300EUS is a 24-port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ smart switch with four 10G SFP slots, designed for rackmount network segmentation and centralised endpoint power delivery. The unit includes 24 Gigabit RJ-45 ports and four 10G SFP slots for high-speed fibre uplinks to core switches or network storage. With a total switching capacity of 128 Gbit/s and a forwarding rate of 95.24 Mpps, it prevents bottlenecks when routing data across busy connections. It supports Layer 3 static routing (up to 32 entries), enabling inter-VLAN communication without relying on an external router. The 16,000-entry MAC address table provides sufficient capacity for traffic management in high-density office environments.

The rackmount chassis measures 440 by 257 by 43.2 mm to fit standard server enclosures. Administrators can configure and monitor the hardware via a web-based interface, a command-line interface (CLI), or a supported cloud management platform. All 24 RJ-45 ports supply Power over Ethernet (PoE+) with a total system budget of 190 W, sufficient for powering compatible access points, IP cameras, or VoIP phones. Traffic management and security are handled through L2 features, including support for up to 256 active VLANs, access control lists (ACLs), and Quality of Service (QoS) protocols. Two internal cooling fans maintain operational temperatures with a measured noise level of 26.8 dB.
