The Keychron K1 Max is a wireless mechanical keyboard designed with an ultra-slim, low-profile chassis and a tenkeyless (80%) layout. It provides three connection modes: a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver with a 1000 Hz polling rate for latency-sensitive tasks, Bluetooth 5.1 for pairing with up to three different devices, and a wired USB-C option. The keyboard supports QMK/VIA firmware, enabling users to remap any key and create macros for a customized workflow. It is built for compatibility with both macOS and Windows operating systems, featuring dedicated keycaps for each.

This keyboard utilizes Gateron low-profile mechanical switches, which have a 1.0 mm pre-travel and a total travel distance of 3.0 mm. The construction consists of an aluminum top frame and an ABS bottom case, which houses internal acoustic foam to reduce typing noise. Keycaps are made from durable double-shot PBT plastic, which resists wear and shine over time. The unit is powered by a rechargeable battery that provides up to 166 hours of operation with the backlight off. Adjustable feet allow for multiple typing angles.
