The Keychron V1 Max is a 75% layout mechanical keyboard with three connectivity modes. It operates at a 1000 Hz polling rate via its 2.4 GHz wireless and wired USB-C connections, providing low-latency input suitable for gaming. For connecting to multiple devices, it also includes Bluetooth 5.1 functionality. The keyboard's internal structure incorporates a gasket mount design and sound-absorbing foam, which works with the Gateron Jupiter Brown tactile switches to create a specific acoustic and tactile response. The keycaps are made from double-shot PBT plastic in an OSA profile, offering resistance to surface wear.

Extensive customization is supported through QMK and VIA firmware, which allows for complete key remapping, macro programming, and shortcut creation. Custom profiles can be saved to the keyboard's 256KB of on-board memory, making them accessible on any computer without needing to install software. The south-facing RGB LEDs provide per-key illumination and are designed to prevent interference with most aftermarket keycap sets. The keyboard contains a 4000 mAh rechargeable battery and is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
