The Keychron V3 Max is a tenkeyless (TKL) mechanical keyboard that provides three distinct connectivity options: a low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless connection, Bluetooth 5.1, and a detachable USB-C cable for wired use. It is equipped with Gateron Jupiter mechanical switches, which are engineered for a consistent feel and durability. For performance-focused tasks, the keyboard supports a 1000 Hz polling rate in both wired and 2.4 GHz modes, alongside N-key rollover to ensure simultaneous keystrokes are registered accurately. The unit is fully compatible with QMK and VIA software, allowing for comprehensive key remapping, macro programming, and the creation of custom function layers.

The keyboard’s internal construction features a gasket-mount design paired with sound-dampening foam, which modifies the acoustic and tactile feedback during typing. The keycaps are made from double-shot PBT plastic, a material selected for its resistance to wear and surface shine. It incorporates south-facing RGB LEDs, a configuration that improves backlight visibility and compatibility with a wider variety of keycap profiles. A 4000 mAh rechargeable battery powers the wireless functions, and the ABS plastic case includes adjustable feet for altering the typing angle.
