The Keychron K4 MAX is a mechanical keyboard with a 96% layout, offering a compact form factor that retains a full numeric keypad. It features tri-mode connectivity, allowing operation via a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver, Bluetooth 5.1, or a wired USB-C connection. When used in 2.4 GHz or wired mode, it supports a 1000 Hz polling rate for lower latency input. The board is equipped with hot-swappable sockets and comes pre-installed with Keychron Super Red linear switches, which have an actuation point of 1.8 mm and a total travel distance of 3.5 mm. N-Key Rollover and anti-ghosting functions ensure all simultaneous key presses are registered accurately.

This keyboard is fully programmable using QMK and VIA open-source firmware, enabling advanced key remapping, macro creation, and custom layout configurations. Its construction includes an aluminum frame and multiple internal layers of sound-dampening material, such as IXPE, PET, and EPDM foam, to refine the acoustic profile. The keycaps are made from durable double-shot PBT plastic with an OSA profile. Designed for cross-platform use, it is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux systems and includes alternate keycaps for both Windows and macOS layouts to match the user's operating system.
