The Ubiquiti UniFi Enterprise Fortress Gateway (EFG) is a dedicated network gateway designed for business environments. It handles deep packet inspection and edge security for large-scale wired networks. The device features a 2.5 GbE RJ45 interface for local connectivity, complemented by SFP+ and SFP28 ports for high-capacity uplinks. It lacks built-in Wi-Fi or Power over Ethernet, and it uses a standard AC power supply, consuming up to 82 W at full load. Security is managed by an integrated firewall that provides intrusion detection and prevention across multiple network segments.

Housed in a 1U rack-mount chassis made from CNC-machined aluminium and SGCC steel, the gateway fits standard server cabinets. Administrators manage the system via a web interface or a supported cloud management platform. The gateway supports network segmentation through VLANs, a built-in DHCP server, and Quality of Service (QoS) controls. It uses OSPF and BGP protocols to manage routing across complex topologies. An integrated display and LED indicators provide on-site status updates for link activity, connection status, and system readiness.
