The Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC590 24TB Enterprise HDD is designed for data centres. This 3.5-inch hard drive fits standard server backplanes and uses a 12 Gb/s Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface to connect to host controllers. It provides 24 TB of capacity, intended for large-scale block storage environments. The platters operate at 7200 RPM for consistent access across the disk surface.

Built for continuous workloads, the drive includes rotational vibration sensors to maintain stable tracking, which is essential when the unit is installed alongside multiple drives in a single rack. It has an active power draw of 8.7 W, dropping to 5.9 W when idle. The drive has a mean time between failures of 2,500,000 hours. As it relies on the SAS protocol, it does not support NVMe.
