Royal Canin Mother & Babycat dry cat food is formulated for gestating or lactating queens and kittens during the weaning stage between one and four months of age. The recipe utilizes dehydrated poultry protein, animal fats, and rice to support the increased energy requirements of late pregnancy and lactation. To facilitate the transition from milk to solid food, the kibble can be easily moistened with water. This creates a soft texture that assists kittens during early weaning while helping to maintain their fluid intake.

The diet provides 34% protein and 25% fat, delivering a high metabolizable energy value to support rapid kitten growth. The inclusion of DHA from fish oil supports early brain development in young felines. To promote digestive health, the formula incorporates highly digestible proteins alongside prebiotics like fructo-oligosaccharides and hydrolyzed yeast, which maintain a healthy intestinal microbiome balance. Additionally, a specialized vitamin complex, including vitamins C and E, supports the development of the kitten's immature immune system.
