The Creative Sound Blaster G8 External Hi-Res Gaming DAC and Amplifier is an external sound card designed to process audio for computers and consoles. It operates as a standalone unit rather than an internal PCIe expansion card. The device processes audio at 32-bit and 384 kHz resolution, providing high-fidelity output for connected speakers. It outputs 7.1 surround-sound channels and achieves a 130 dB line-out signal-to-noise ratio with 0.00018% total harmonic distortion, keeping the audio signal clean when routed to an external amplifier. The unit also accepts multiple input sources for mixing audio from different devices.

The G8 connects via USB-C and includes two 1.5 m USB-C to USB-C cables for setup. Compatible operating systems include Windows 10 and 11, macOS 10.15 and later, Android 13, iOS 15, and Nintendo Switch OS 5.0.
