The ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 is a Wi-Fi 6 tri-band mesh system delivered as a two-unit package, designed to cover large residential areas up to 264.77 m². The system operates on one 2.4 GHz frequency band and two distinct 5 GHz bands, achieving a maximum combined data transfer rate of 7800 Mbit/s. This architecture dedicates the faster 5 GHz band (4804 Mbit/s) to high-speed wireless backhaul, which maintains a stable, high-throughput connection between the two mesh nodes.

Each ZenWiFi XT9 unit features robust wired connectivity options for stationary devices. This includes one WAN/LAN port supporting speeds up to 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, alongside three standard Gigabit LAN ports. Network performance is managed by a dual-core 1700 MHz processor, supported by 512 MB of internal memory, enabling efficient data handling via features like MU-MIMO and Beamforming technology.

The system utilizes six internal antennas per node to distribute signal coverage efficiently, while WPA3 encryption ensures secure wireless transmission. A single USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port is integrated into each unit for shared network storage functionality. Advanced security provisions, including the AiProtection Pro suite, stateful packet inspection, and a customizable firewall, provide comprehensive network security and access control.
