The Cisco Catalyst 9162I-E Wi‑Fi 6E Tri-Band Access Point (CW9162I-E) operates across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands, with a maximum data transfer rate of 3900 Mbit/s. It connects to the wired network through a single 2.5G Multigigabit Ethernet (RJ-45) interface. Wi‑Fi 6E support allows the unit to use the 6 GHz spectrum to reduce signal interference, while 2x2 MIMO technology enables communication with multiple concurrent wireless clients.

The device functions in temperatures between 0 and 50 °C at humidity levels of up to 90%. Power is supplied via PoE or a 12V DC input, with a maximum draw of 25.5 W.
