The NETGEAR Orbi RBS860-100EUS is an add-on satellite unit designed to expand an existing Orbi AX6000 Wi-Fi 6 mesh system. This tri-band satellite operates on one 2.4 GHz band and two distinct 5 GHz bands, achieving a maximum combined data rate of 6144 Mbit/s. The tri-band architecture utilizes one 5 GHz band for a dedicated wireless backhaul path, which optimizes data throughput between the satellite and the main router unit. The RBS860 is engineered to extend network coverage by up to 180 square meters and maintain stable connectivity for up to 100 concurrent devices.

The unit integrates a quad-core processor clocked at 2200 MHz, supported by 1000 MB of RAM and 512 MB of Flash memory. Network stability is enhanced through technologies like MU-MIMO and Beamforming, facilitated by eight internal antennas. For wired network requirements, the satellite provides four dedicated Gigabit Ethernet ports. Network security features include support for WPA3 encryption, Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall capabilities, and Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack prevention.
