The ASUS ZenWiFi BD4 is a dual-band mesh networking system packaged with three units, designed for blanket coverage across large areas up to 600 m². This system utilizes the latest Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard, supporting both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands simultaneously. The 5 GHz band offers a maximum wireless data transfer rate of 2882 Mbps, while the 2.4 GHz band provides up to 688 Mbps. Wireless efficiency is augmented by 4096-QAM modulation and Multi-Link Operation (MLO).
Each mesh node incorporates two auto-sensing 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports for high-speed wired connectivity or dedicated backhaul operation. Internal hardware specifications include a quad-core 1500 MHz processor backed by 512 MB of internal memory and 128 MB of flash memory. The integrated network features support for MIMO, MU-MIMO, and Beamforming capabilities, which are managed by four internal antennas. Security features include WPA3 encryption, a robust firewall, and Quality of Service (QoS) controls for traffic prioritization.
