The Keychron Q5 Max QMK/VIA is a 96% ANSI mechanical keyboard in Carbon Black. Its firmware allows for native operation across macOS, Windows, and Linux. The board comes with pre-installed Gateron Jupiter Banana switches paired with double-shot PBT keycaps in the KSA profile. A hot-swappable printed circuit board allows users to change switches without soldering. It supports N-Key Rollover (NKRO) and anti-ghosting to ensure reliable input registration during fast typing.

The chassis is made of CNC-machined 6063 aluminium and features a double-gasket design to soften the typing feel. It offers three connectivity modes: 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.1, and wired USB-C. The internal battery lasts up to 180 hours on a single charge. South-facing RGB LEDs provide adjustable backlighting, and the board includes dedicated multimedia keys alongside programmable hotkeys. Layouts are configured via QMK/VIA using the Keychron Launcher software.
