This cable is designed to establish a digital connection between a Mini DisplayPort source and a standard DisplayPort input device. Utilizing the DisplayPort 1.2 specification, the link supports a maximum data rate of 21.6 Gbit/s. This bandwidth enables transmission of video resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 pixels. The cable consistently handles 4K resolution at a 60 Hz refresh rate, while also accommodating higher frame rates such as 144 Hz at 2K and 1080p resolutions.

Physical construction incorporates copper conductors and a durable Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outer jacket. Both the Mini DisplayPort and standard DisplayPort connectors are male gender and feature gold plating on the contacts. This plating is implemented to minimize signal loss and oxidation over the lifespan of the product. The standard DisplayPort end is equipped with a latching mechanism, designed to ensure a secure and maintained physical connection to the display port during operation.
