A range extender extends the reach of an existing Wi-Fi network. The range extender is a relatively simple and inexpensive way to expand wireless network coverage and range. It is easier to set up and configure range extenders than deploying a wireless network with APs. Though extenders are easy to configure, the Wi-Fi speed can be halved of the received signal from the main router.
